Happy New Year! Our good friend and photographer extrordinaire Donna Von Bruening of Donna Von Bruening Photographers stopped by the shop recently and captured the Custom Cakes gang in action.
Thought I would share a few photos:
Here I am dusting peony petals:
Ashlee has just rolled fondant using our sheeter and is preparing to cover a cake with fondant. We love our sheeter. It allows us to roll the fondant evenly, very thin, and perfect everytime!
Ashlee is seating the fondant on the cake:
Ben is making frosting:
Ashlee is teaching a modeling chocolate class next week and here she is working on her class project:
Ben, Minette, and Ashlee:
Thanks for looking!

What beautiful work. I would love to do the chocolate modeling class, maybe if you offer another next summer or fall. I really like the turtle's on a log.

The time it takes to make just one cake is amazing, the preparation too which ultimately makes the cake in the end is essential. The more prep we do and the more time it takes on the sugar craft the better the cake will be. It is all about the presentation and this company certainly knows about this!
